Jonathan Mill - My Life in Art

Jonathan Mill - My Life in Art
Written & Performed by Jonathan Mill
Musical Supervision by Jeremy Brennan
Musical Direction by Bev Kennedy

After a career spanning 45 years and more than 150 stage productions, Jonathan Mill returns to Canberra after a national tour in his hit show - My Life In Art.

From growing up in the suburbs of Adelaide where he first trained as a dancer, to the bright lights of Broadway, and countless glamorous and not so glamorous gigs along the way, Jonathan weaves his showbiz stories using songs he sang, played instruments in, or simply heard through the Tannoy.

Musical director Bev Kennedy is a legend of Australian music theatre and cabaret, and joins Jonathan on the journey spanning five decades.

Working with stars such as Jimmy Stewart, (yes that Jimmy Stewart), Anthony Warlow, Caroline O’Connor, Marina Prior, Todd McKenney, Kylie Minogue and a host of other Australian performers as well as a scattering of international stars, he lifts the lid and gives you a peek behind the curtain of life both backstage and on.

This is a show for theatre aficionados, music theatre lovers, or anyone who likes a yarn and a catchy tune.

Jonathan graduated from NIDA in 1986. He has worked with the Sydney Theatre Company, Melbourne Theatre Company, State Theatre Company of South Australia, Belvoir St Theatre, Ensemble Theatre, Sport For Jove, GFO, Cameron Mackintosh and many others in productions including A Midsummer Night’s Dream, A View From the Bridge, Cabaret, King Lear, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Oliver!, The Crucible, The Ham Funeral, Moby Dick, Meet Me in St Louis, Buddy, Jolson, The Government Inspector, Twelfth Night, Waiting for Godot and four and a half years as Officer Krupke in West Side Story.

With hit songs from shows such as Cabaret, Meet Me in St Louis, West Side Story, Oliver!, A Chorus Line and more and with classic songs from Buddy Holly, Frank Sinatra, Vanessa Amarosi, John Paul Young and even Kylie Minogue, your feet will be tapping and you might even start to sing along.

After hit seasons in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Gold Coast and Perth it is time for our nation’s capital.
